I have added an original essay on Romanticism , entitled The Life Within, to the site. It is a brief survey of the Movement as embodied by the major English Romantic poets, with occasional reference to the parallel Movement in Germany and France, as exemplified by Goethe and Chateaubriand. It seeks to highlight some of the key ideas and influences of that Movement, interpreted in a personal manner, and without purporting to be a comprehensive study.
