Chrétien de Troyes: Yvain
The third of Chrétien de Troyes' five courtly tales, namely Yvain or the Knight of the Lion, is now online, with illustrations. This is a new translation in rhyming couplets, as per the original text, giving a fresh view of the poet. Chrétien uses the legendary Arthurian court as an analogue for the Angevin courts of his own day, as well as telling a charming tale.
I am currently working on the fourth tale, Lancelot or the Knight of the Cart (part 2 of 4).
