This further collection of original verse by A. S. Kline, is central to his poetic work, and takes its impetus from a Navajo oral quotation exhorting each of us to ‘scatter the pollen of dawn on your trail.’ The author interprets that to mean retaining the fresh seemingly-limitless perspective of the child into adult life; remembering and reviving the early history of the human species in mutual embrace with the natural world, and cherishing the fertile re-generative power of nature as exemplified by the pollen at the heart of the flower. All three aspects are here creatively evoked.
