In this further selection of original poetry by A. S. Kline, the poet celebrates the depths of nature, from the deep fields of the starry universe seen by our telescopes, to the deep fields of the unspoilt landscapes of our past, and of those which survive in our present. At times a lament for what seems on the point of vanishing, these poems recognise the uniqueness of life on our home planet, its sacred nature, a sacredness that has nothing to do with religion in a universe empty of deities, but everything to do with the irreplaceable qualities of the living world, and the features of all that is non-living.
