Chrétien de Troyes: Perceval now online

Chrétien de Troyes' fifth and last courtly tale, namely Perceval (Or the Story of the Grail), is now browseable online here. The tale, translated in rhyming couplets to reflect the original text, is here enhanced by the superb illustrations which Aubrey Beardsley (1872-1898) created for the text of Sir Thomas Malory's 'Morte d'Arthur'.

In other news I am now translating one hundred ballades, rondeaux and chansons by Charles Duke of Orléans, captured at Agincourt, held by the English for twenty-five years, and one of the greatest of French lyricists, though far too little known due to the lack of good translations of his fine work.
