Values are the guides of purpose. Since all human meaning, in a universe without intent, is realised through our self-created purposes, our values are the core of our essential being. True values are not given but chosen, though they correspond to external realities; for example, the classical values of truth, beauty, and love, find their outward reality in fact, form, and affection. This collection of the poetry of A.S. Kline explores the realm of values, both inwardly and outwardly, in the depths of life outside us, in the sacred house of nature, the house without walls, and in the citadel of the inner mind.
